The Weekend Reset: Prepare for a Better Week
One calm hour at the weekend removes about twenty small decisions from the week ahead.

The point of a reset
A weekend reset is not deep cleaning or productivity theatre. It is a short pass over the things that create friction on Monday: food, laundry, plans and mess.
A one-hour version
- 10 minutes: look at the week and note the busy days and fixed commitments.
- 10 minutes: choose four or five meals and write the shopping list.
- 15 minutes: tidy the kitchen and the surface you use most.
- 10 minutes: laundry on, and set out clothes for the first busy day.
- 10 minutes: prep something — wash salad, cook grains, chop vegetables.
- 5 minutes: put one thing you are looking forward to in the diary.
Plan the difficult day first
Find the evening that is most likely to fall apart and give it a plan: something frozen, something fast or a night you accept you will eat out. Removing that one pressure point protects the rest of the week.
Leave room to rest
A reset should give you time back, not eat the weekend. Set a timer, do what you can, and stop. Rest is part of the preparation, not a reward for finishing the list.
Make it a ritual you like
Music, coffee, a podcast, someone to do it with. If the hour is pleasant it becomes a habit. If it feels like punishment it will not last two weeks.
